This project brings the visual history of the Penguin Books publishing house to life, opening it to a new audience through an interactive spatial experience that presents the past as a surrealist journey through space and time.

The concept places users on a train where, instead of following a linear timeline, they travel through the past by walking through the line of seats. As they progress, the train's interior transforms to capture three significant moments in Penguin's history: the 1930s, 1950s, and 2000s. Playful penguins appear throughout the space, providing continuity as the aesthetic and atmosphere of the train shifts around the observer.

Rather than simply scrolling through the brand's narrative, the project invites audiences to discover it for themselves, rendering the experience more personal and memorable. By integrating communication design, interaction patterns, and 3D graphics into one experience, this case study demonstrates how strategic spatial design can make history feel accessible and engaging for modern audiences.
