Research Question:
How can a stacking game communicate human-caused environmental fragility while maintaining a highly-sophisticated level of design?

'Hando' is a stacking game that explores the impact of climate change and human activity on animals and their habitats, using play to raise awareness.
The project is focused on the Arctic Habitat, an environment strongly affected by temperature changes and human intervention. By stacking and trying to balance different elements of the ecosystem – i.e. the habitat, the animals, and the external influence – players can understand how easily the environment can be disrupted and how fragile it is.
There game is designed as an evolving concept. In the future, the project could expand to include new habitats, as well as updated versions of existing ones, released annually to reflect environmental changes over time.
'Hando' will exhibited at Berlin Design Week 2026.
