The course 'What We Leave Behind' explores how emerging social and technological trends could shape future practices of mourning and saying goodbye, whether to those who have died or to those who leave our lives in other ways.

Through a mix of lectures, workshops, and co-creation sessions, students developed future artifacts, or 'provotypes', that challenge viewers to consider whether our modern, communication-driven culture can improve upon or coexist with traditional rituals.

Ultimately, the course asks whether new, hybrid forms of farewell can emerge from this intersection of old and new.

The results of the module were presented in the Speculative Futures Meetup, Berlin and in a Meetup of the International Design Center (IDZ), Berlin.
